The Tab Player supports all the fingering, looping, chords, articulations and other markers in the loaded tablature. GREAT PLUGIN! It doesn't support lower tunnings so to make it work for Drop G# for 5 string bass I took the midi up until the lowest (G#) note became the lowest note supported by the plugin (E) and then used Pitch Shifter to pitch the tune down and now it sounds really amazing especially it's a free plugin! Definitely can recommend to anyone

I've just downloaded this plugin and wanted to thank you! I'm living abroad and don't currently have my bass with me, and this is as close as it gets to the real thing. Works great in the mix - right off the bat the sound I got is so much better than what I was getting with other stuff. Fantastic!

Hi!, i had the same error, the right way to fix it is download win 32 vst on this page, so then, when you install it , try to uncheck those plugins that say win32 and install only 64, that way works for me.

Downloaded the Mac OSX AU version and installed it, but I can't get it to work with Garageband (I use version 10.4.8). If I start the app ASHost I get the stand alone version, which works fine, but obviously I would like to use it as a plug-in in Garageband. Anyone any ideas on how to get this done?

Hi. Seems great vst. I downloaded 4 ample vst's from here. This bass plugin was the only one working though. I uninstalled and installed all of them again hoping to get all of them working but now none of them works. Do not know how to activate it. I tried multiple locations to install. Tried copying vst.dll filles into my Cubase vst pluging folder. Not sure what to do

For some reason ABPL 2 doesnt work anymore (worked for years), in FL Studio it gives an error (same as AGM 2) and there's no sound at all. I can see the plugin but does nothing. Any suggestions?

Bon plugin de basse ! Lorsque on importe des fichiers midi dans le séquenceur, il arrive parfois que certaines notes ne sonnent pas, en fait il faut ouvrir l'éditeur de midi, sélectionner toutes les notes et les monter d'un octave (maj+flèche vers le haut).

Was it because of some security concern or was it a technical issue? If it was because of a security concern, try it again and choose to download it anyway. This happens with a lot of software. I think our virus protection are too broad in what they do not recognize. I get a dialog box that does not say 'proceed anyway.' But it does show 'Other Information" and I click on that. There you are given options, one being, download anyway....or some verbage like that.

I'm sure this is great software, but no matter what I do, I can't get it to detect the library. I set it in settings and it just doesn't work, the second I go back in to the settings tab its is reset to FileNotFound. I see a lot of people asking this question and not a single useful answer, other than this link https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=245&t=434483&p=8013310#p8013310 . This really frustrating me and Ive spent like 3 hours already and nothing has worked. Ill be happy to change my rating if there is a fix for this.

First I double click ABPL_2_3_1_Complete_Installer.pkg but mac won't let me install. Then I go to privacy & security settings and allow this installation. The Installer pops up. I click continue 2x and click Agree. At "Custom Install on Macintosh" I click Continue. Then Install. Then enter mac password or finderprint. "Installation was successful". Then in Ableton live Lite 11, go to Live/ Preferences/ Plug-ins. Then I click "rescan" and activate the "Use VST 2 Plug-in System Folders" and also the one under "Use VST2 Plug-In Custom Folder". Then back in min Ableton screen on the left panel I click Plug-ins (between MIDI effects and Clips) and there I see AGML and ABPL. Double click will open the instrument.

This error doesn't matter - if you have a newer version it will run it fine and the VST is already installed. Continue past it and click finish, the VST will be in C:Program FilesSteinberg or wherever you chose to install.

Delete the newer version the one that it says. I did it and it worked it will install it back as an older version. Then when windows sees the older version it will update it hasn't yet on mine but I'm sure it will when I look for updates but it installed and works fine.

This install package isn't signed, so you need to open System Preferences on you MAC and then open the Security & Privacy app. You should see the option to open up this app anyway even though it isn't trusted by your Mac.

Robert make sure the "echo on" feature is not enabled on that midi track. The echo on is a great tool when you want to play several synths etc from one midi track. But generally speaking you deselect this option.

This has been the worst experience of trying to install this plugin multiple times, I have attempted 6 times to install this plugin in everyway possible including tutorials, videos, changing location, I cant get any sound from it, From videos the plugin seems great but its not user friendly at all, I gave it this rating for its use but oh well.

This ABPL II thing could have a good plugin if it wasn't for: - The user interface is too small, on a 4k 32" monitor it has 1,7mm tall letters... - It craps the hell out of the anti-malware because it installs worthless fonts in the Windows folder and wants access to 'My Documents' to drop a bunch of tunes and presets. - This thing has a lot of complicated options that makes it difficult to use. - The integrated keyboard maps only qwerty which merely represents 15% of all keyboards in the world. - Did I mention the lower notes are missing? - The activationmanager.exe is not necessary for a free tool.

Great plugin! I am using this in waveform 11. I found if you add a Volume and Pan before the instrument, enable Assign to Velocity and set it high it adds a really nice 'twang' to the already good bass sound.

To the people complaining that the "low notes are missing", yes, but the lowest note available on this plugin is the exact same as the lowest note on a standard tuned 4 string bass

Lowest notes missing is not a problem because you can record in the low notes on this plugin and then transpose down one octave and you get the low notes missing on this vst. Problem solved.

Not sure, but from the comments, I can guess that the range used to be limited a bit more than that, but now you have all the notes you normally could.

Try install "all in one run times" on your pc. That's some archives from Microsoft that solve a lot of bugs like that one. It probably only works for Windows, i don't think it will solve on mac or any other OS

It's only an error for the Visual C++ program. It won't affect the actual installation and the VST should already be installed. The Visual C++ is giving an error because your computer already has a better version so there's no need to install an older version.

this is usually fixed by running Windows Update if you want to waste minimal time and have a higher chance of results. you can manually download the latest C++ redist on Microsoft's site, but Win Update will usually fix that for you because it's usually an out-of-date or otherwise version as chances are you have a fairly recent C++ redist. For the average use case a Windows Update will install the necessary stuff ^^

every time i download the installer, i cant extract the file and it wont open in ableton, any ideas??

I use Windows, and I don't use Ableton, so this may not apply, but this is how I installed it. It worked for me... 1- Download WIN 64 VST. 2- Run ABPL_2_3_1_Complete_Installer.exe (it should ask for a path to extract files). 3- After it finishes extracting, it should automatically start the installer. If it doesn't, go to the folder that it was extracted to and run ABPL_2_3_1_Complete_Installer.exe in that folder. 4- It will ask if you want it to make changes to your PC. Choose Yes. 5- Follow the instructions in the installer, including choosing the path for Ample Bass, the VST location, and the sample location. 6- Hopefully it should work?

ABPL II as well as AGML II make Cakewalk (by BandLab) crash when trying to set the plugin. Any ideas? Tips? Sound is what I'm seaching for, but the plugin is "frustrating" if not working properly with all functionalities. 5 stars if it works!

Installed in Dorico Elements. It sounds great but it thinks it's a guitar. when playing from the score (bass clef) it's low E has to entered as low E on a 6 string guitar , an octave higher than it should be.

You can detune it yourself in the DAW itself. for example, in Ableton you can just go to the midi and pitchshift it

This bass isn't really good for being free, this bass is really good period! Ran this through a reamper and the rest was history. Between emulators and reamping (analog or otherwise), this is a good value for any studio. Now if only a 5 or 6 string version was available for free as well.

As for me, I've tried to install win 64 vst and it doesn't work. Then I try with win 32 vst and it works BUT, during the installation process i've chosen not to install Pro Tools and stuffs that doesn't look like VST... hope it helps...

Hi JrSwizzle, on my old PC (win-XP 32-bit) with Fruityloops 7.0 i have tried to install this one with te same error.. but even while the notice was open, i was able to play and safe the Ample-bass !! But when i try to close all i had to reboot and all works fine now.. good luck -Rob- from NL

That may have something to do with your DAW. If your DAW is 64-bit (like Cakewalk by Bandlab), it won't be able to load 32-bit VSTs without a bit bridge (which most DAWs have built-in). Maybe your DAW's bridge is buggy?

Best free bass guitar VST. You can detune the lower E to a D and add some realism with fret sound, "slapppy" sound when full velocity and some buzz. Totally worth it for rock, blues, pop and even metal if you use an amp simulator. Totally worth it!

Yes, there may be no low notes, but the sound quality is miles ahead of other free electric bass plugins. Try detuning as much as possible, and if that is not enough, perhaps use a pitch shifter.

Lovely sounding bass. Nice tone straight out the box and the buzz controls can be tweaked to add some realism. Standard range is limited to E1 (since this is a 4 string bass after all), but can be tuned down to D1 and this is low enough for most uses. Personally don't think this VST deserves to be slammed because of the missing lowest notes, if they're needed that much then there's plenty of 5 string basses out there.

Great plugin, but the bender wheel is stuck ever so slightly below 0. I removed all automation and anything that might affect it. I even added automation to set it to 0 every time the track starts, but each time it starts it goes back to that little bit below and I have to put it back manually, then it goes back again if i start it again.

If this had all the notes, it would rock. But, 'cos it doesn't, it therefore doesn't. Two better bass VSTs are OMB2 http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=OMB2&id=2493 and Bigcat's sampled Rickenbacker 4001 - fingered version at http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Project16_Fingered_Bass&id=2319 and picked version at http://www.vst4free.com/free_vst.php?plugin=Project16_Picked_Bass&id=2320 I use both at the same time (on two different tracks) and combine to make a great authentic classic Rick sounds - the Bigcat Rick VSTs were sampled from a real Rick 4001 bass.

If you read their website, and look at the comparison table for this item, the lower 2 octaves are missing from this free version. the most important notes on a bass guitar are missing.

Use a Pitch Shifter to solve the octave/note issue. I recommend "Pitchproof" Set the pitch value to -12 and the detune to .200 and you will have a fully functioning Bass.

Thank you music producer this changed the game for me in less than 5 minutes I already own a Fender Dimension Bass, but this will be alot quicker and sounds damn near identical to playing a bass live with this modification. These 2 free plugins combined is definitely worth a few hundred dollars as a paid plugin
