DVS Airwaves - free Aural exciter plugin
DVS Airwaves is an aural exciter.

The air in a large club or outdoor venue is usualy moving around and shifting the sound small amounts in time, this plugin re-creates the effect giving the music a more natural feel.

When used with more extreme settings it can sound quite trippy :) with moderate settings it can be used as an aural exciter on the master output.

As someone who enjoys the environmental interactions sound has at outdoor parties, the description of this effect is very intriguing. Although it leaves you to wonder, what does it actually do under the hood? :P. With the help of codex I dug deeper, and found out:. DVS Airwaves is essentially a slow, stereo modulated micro-delay/comb filter, not a conventional harmonic - aural exciter. The delays are swept by triangle-wave modulators:. Left delay: 0 - 0.5 ms displayed Motion value. - Right delay: 0 - 0.3 ms displayed Motion value. Motion range: 1 - 8. Therefore maximum delay ranges are 0 - 4 ms left and 0 -2.4 ms right. Speed produces a 0.05 - 0.15 Hz sweep on the left. - The right sweep is approximately 0.01 Hz faster, producing continuous stereo movement. - Fractional delays use linear interpolation between adjacent samples. The Mix control is unusual. It is an equal-power-style crossfade, but the processed branch already contains a fixed amount of dry signal. Even at maximum Mix, the result is approximately: 0.3755, immediate signal + 1.0 delayed signal.
